Welcome to
hygge yoga!

A cozy space for your home yoga practice

Hygge yoga, like many beautiful moments in life and art, was born at a time of deep change.

The project was inspired by the possibility to share moments of connection with loved ones from far away, creating a space for us to step out of our busy minds and find time for gratitude and presence.

Connection, creative movement, and breath awareness have always been my doorway to presence and well-being.

Every memorable moment in my life has been created with some combination of these ingredients.

At a time of worldwide fear and uncertainty, I found myself not only looking for those special moments in my life, but also longing to contribute in any possible way to the wellbeing of others.

In this way, Hygge yoga has been a beautiful gift. It has allowed me to open and share a space for everyone to connect, to be present and to remember to breathe. It’s my little drop in the ocean and it makes me feel incredibly grateful.

Hygge is a Danish word used to acknowledge a feeling or moment as cozy, charming or special. It’s living in the moment, recognizing and enjoying the state of presence. This concept has brought so much awareness to my life. It made me realize that, no matter the circumstance, my life is full of heart filling moments, but they only exist as such if I’m conscious of it while they are happening.

If you think about it, our life is truly full of pleasurable moments. Getting under a warm blanket, lighting a candle, playing a tune we love, the smell of fresh coffee, or being moved to tears… it’s an endless list. Yet sometimes we are too busy in our heads to bring awareness to the pleasure of these “small” things, so we only partially enjoy them.

My hope is that through this yoga practice, we find ways to honor the present moment by being aware of the seemingly small pleasures like filling our lungs with air, feeling the connection of our feet with the ground, taking a cozy rest after physical work, and other infinite special moments of synchronicity and connection both during the class and the rest of the day.

I am truly honored to welcome people from all around the world into my London living room, and to be able to play a small part in offering some positive energy out in these times.

Everyone is welcome to join the practice.

Sessions are available in Spanish and English and all sessions are for all levels and ages.

Classes are donation based so pay what you can, if you can.

I’m looking forward to sharing the practice with you!

With love, Sandy
